Health

•Decentralization of services, institutions and facilities of healthcare sector.

•Medical college to be set up in each major district including tribal regions.

•A scheme will be introduced to provide assistance to needy students of government self finance medical colleges.

•Generic medicines and diagnostic services will be provided at almost no cost through the Gujarat Medical Services Corporation established recently.

• The scope of Mukhyamantri Amrutam (MA) Yojana will be gradually expanded to include neo (lower) Middle class families. At present poor families are covered up to Rs. 2,00,000 per annum for treatment of catastrophic illnesses such as cancer, heart failure, neurological diseases, kidney disorder etc.

•New speciality hospitals will be established at Surat, Vadodara, Rajkot and North Gujarat for critical diseases of cancer, kidney and heart.

•Various initiatives for women and child care like Mission Balam Sukham for addressing malnutrition, Khilkhilat Van for safe transportation of newly born child with mother, Nand Ghar (modern Anganwaadis), Mata Yashoda Awards etc.

•Geriatric Hospitals / Wards, introduction of MD (Geriatrics) course and Sunday OPD clinics as a part of special healthcare for Senior Citizens. Chirayu Yojana to encourage Old Age Homes on PPP basis.

•Healthcare services will be decentralized and district civil hospitals would be equipped with Cardiac intensive care unit, kidney dialysis centre and neonatal intensive care unit

Agriculture and Animal husbandry

•While in 40 years, only 6.70 lakh agricultural power connections were provided, the present BJP government has provided 4 lakh such connections in only 11 years. Further, we will see to it that all pending demands are met on an immediate basis.

•With our persistent water harvesting and water harnessing drives, we have successfully freed our farmers from 57 dark zones which they suffered since years. We will continue water harvesting and saving drives so that our farmers do not suffer dark zones again.

•Assistance and relaxation in agricultural and vocational credit to farmers and Sakhi Mandals.

•Agriculture production will be further increased by farm mechanization and modernization of agriculture

•We have already covered more than seven lakh hectares of land under drip/sprinkler irrigation. We will cover more and more land under these systems furthering our motto of ‘per drop more crop’.

•Special emphasize on value addition and export of agri-products.

•Health cards to be provided for animals.

•Global Agritech fair once in every two years like Vibrant Gujarat Summit.

•The state government will share the burden of higher insurance premium being unduly charged by the Central government from cotton growing farmers

•Production of vegetables and fruits has witnessed a steep rise in last decade. Our vegetables and fruits have reached to the international markets. Green house, poly house, net house etc. to be encouraged to establish Gujarat as vegetable basket of the country.

•Small and marginal farmers pay 7% interest on agricultural loans taken from cooperative organizations. The government will share their burden by paying 3% interest so that the farmers have to pay only 4% interest.
