Second list undeclared, but some candidates start filing nominations on direction over phone call

Congress party’s second list of candidates was earlier announced and withdrawn later.

The official second list has not been declared yet.

However many of the candidates in the unofficial second list (i.e. Kadir Pirzada on Surat east seat) have started filing nomination forms today with nod given to them by party leadership over phone according to them.

The second unofficial list has been given below. But there are some changes. Somabhai Patel is not contesting Limbdi. Gondal, Kutiyana, Limbayat seat from this list have been allotted to NCP. There may be some changes in other seats too, but such changes will be known only in future.

Second list of Congress candidates that AICC withdrew

Early in the morning on Thursday, a list of Gujarat Congress’s another 46 candidates was in public through vernacular electronic media. The list was received through AICC email and was aired immediately. However Gujarat Congress President Arjun Modhwadia soon clarified that the list was not officially announced. Now the PTI story says that AICC withdrew the second list.

PTI story says: The AICC on Wednesday night withdrew its second list of 46 candidates for the Gujarat Assembly Elections.The second list was withdrawn within two hours of its release. No immediate reasons were cited by Congress for the withdrawal of the second list.The AICC had announced two lists of 52 and 46 candidates separately after a meeting of the party’s Central Election Committee chaired by Congress president Sonia Gandhi on Wednesday evening.
